HYDERABAD: Election officials on Friday released the official rate chart for expenditure by candidates contesting the Jubilee Hills bypoll, listing fixed prices for campaign-related services and items.

Officials release rate chart for campaign expenses

The Hyderabad district election authorities said that as per the Model Code of Conduct, candidates must maintain daily expense records. Any violation of the prescribed spending norms would invite action, they warned.

The rate chart covers a wide range of campaign-related materials and facilities — from sound boxes, banners, posters, and chairs to drone cameras and function halls.

₹5,000 for drone camera, ₹6,200 for mini hall

As per the chart, a drone camera hired for 12 hours costs ₹5,000, while a mini function hall for a day is priced at ₹6,200. A large function hall can cost up to ₹62,000 per day, and an air-conditioned hall up to ₹1.25 lakh.

The chart also lists food and beverage rates:

  • Single tea ₹5, large cup ₹10

  • Coffee (single) ₹6, large cup ₹11

  • Water packet ₹2, 200ml bottle ₹6, 500ml bottle ₹10, one-litre bottle ₹20

  • Pulihora (300g) ₹40, aloo samosa ₹10

  • Veg biryani (750g) ₹115, chicken biryani ₹170, egg biryani ₹135, mutton biryani ₹180

  • Veg fried rice ₹90, idli plate (4 pieces) ₹20, vada plate (2 pieces) ₹20, veg meals (single) ₹80

Officials said these standardised prices would ensure transparency in election expenditure reporting and prevent inflated claims by candidates.
