Hyderabad : Actor Jr NTR has condemned the creation of obscene videos using artificial intelligence (AI), after an AI-morphed version of the video for the song Chuttamalle from Devara surfaced on social media.

NTR said the misuse of AI to create such content was an insult to women and warned that he would take legal action against those responsible.

“This is an extremely disgusting act. Ours is a land where women are worshipped as mothers and goddesses. In a culture where ‘Matrudevo Bhava’ is part of our tradition, some people have stooped to an extremely low level,” NTR said.

“It is shameful to misuse AI technology to create such vile content, or deepfake videos, to insult a woman. I will not spare those behind the morphed video of the ‘Chuttamalle’ song,” he added.

NTR also urged people not to watch or engage with such obscene content.

NTR urges governments to tighten rules on AI misuse

“Today, another woman has been subjected to such humiliation. Tomorrow, the same could happen to your mother, wife or daughter,” NTR said.

“I urge the Centre and all state governments to immediately bring in strict regulations to curb the misuse of AI and take stringent action against those responsible,” he added.

The actor’s remarks come amid growing concerns over the misuse of AI to create morphed photographs and videos involving celebrities.

Shalini Pandey recently faced similar AI-generated video

Shalini Pandey, who starred in Arjun Reddy, recently became the target of an obscene AI-generated video that circulated on social media.

Pandey expressed distress over the incident and criticised the misuse of technology. She urged people not to share or download the video and asked them to report it immediately.

Several other celebrities, including Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, Mrunal Thakur and Keerthy Suresh, have previously been targeted by deepfake videos that circulated online.
