Nadda asks AIIMS Bibinagar to strengthen workforce, expand patient care
HYDERABAD: Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Thursday reviewed the progress of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bibinagar and stressed the need to strengthen human resources by recruiting more senior residents and providing them with greater opportunities.
Healthcare network expanded across the country
Addressing the review, Nadda said the country has expanded its network of All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) from just one institution until the end of the 20th century to 23 institutions today.
He said the government has developed a uniform and integrated healthcare framework by strengthening tertiary healthcare institutions while simultaneously expanding and reinforcing secondary and primary healthcare services.
AIIMS Bibinagar serves around 1,800 patients daily
AIIMS Bibinagar is providing outpatient services across all major specialities and currently caters to around 1,800 patients every day.
The institute has also adopted six villages and organised 547 mobile medical camps. Its Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC) and Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC) have together benefited 66,148 patients.
Ayushman Arogya Mandirs expand primary healthcare access
Nadda said the country now has 1.85 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs serving nearly 1.5 billion people. He said the government’s focus has been on strengthening healthcare delivery at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels to improve access to quality medical services across the country.
During the review, the Union minister emphasised the need to strengthen the institute’s human resources and highlighted the importance of recruiting more senior residents to further improve patient care and medical education.
