Merit Based Vice Chancellor Appointments

HYDERABAD: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) students, along with the JNTUH protection force, sent postcards to Telangana’s Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan
and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday. The students demanded that the university vice chancellors be appointed based on merit rather than political influence.

They questioned Dr. S.V. Kota Reddy’s selection as Vice Chancellor of VIT AP Private University as he’s a friend of Telangana Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. The protestors demanded that vice chancellors only appoint individuals who have previously worked in government universities.
