Burglar Behind 30 House Thefts Caught, Rs. 11.5l Loot Recovered In Jeedimetla

Hyderabad: The Jeedimetla Police have apprehended a notorious individual involved in several house burglary cases and recovered stolen property worth ₹11.5 lakh. The arrest was made following an extensive investigation, which included analyzing CCTV footage, technical tracking, and suspect database verification.

The accused has been identified as 26-year-old Begari Venu Kumar, an auto driver from Suraram, Quthbullapur Mandal, Medchal District.

The police recovered gold and silver ornaments, net cash, and a Jupiter two-wheeler, all valued at ₹11.5 lakh. The two-wheeler was used by the accused during the commission of the crimes.

On March 6, 2025, Ratan Chandra Mandal, a resident of Jeedimetla, RR District, reported a burglary at his brother-in-law Pintu’s house. The incident occurred on the night of March 5-6, when an unknown individual broke open a side window near the main door and stole gold and silver ornaments valued at ₹10 lakh.

The Jeedimetla Police, under the guidance of senior officers, reviewed footage from over 160 CCTV cameras along possible escape routes. By matching the modus operandi with known offenders and cross-checking suspect data, the team identified the accused.

Venu Kumar, along with his associates, has been involved in more than 30 house burglaries across various police stations in Cyberabad. He has been previously jailed multiple times for similar crimes, and his criminal record includes involvement in a POCSO Act case and a NDPS Act case. He was also detained under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act by Cyberabad Police and served a one-year sentence.

The breakthrough came as a result of the efforts of the Jeedimetla Police, led by K. Suresh Kumar, IPS, DCP of Balanagar Zone, K. Hanumanth Rao, ACP of Balanagar Division, G. Mallesh, Inspector of Police, S. Kanakaiah, Detective Inspector of Police, Raju, Inspector of Police, CCS Balanagar, and other officers. Their technical expertise, persistence, and teamwork played a key role in solving the case and recovering the stolen items.
