Telangana Intermediate English practical exams clash with JEE Main 2026 schedule

HYDERABAD: The English practical examinations for first and second-year Intermediate students are set to clash with the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 schedule.

English practicals coincide with JEE Main dates

The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has scheduled the first-year and second-year English practical exams for January 21 and 22 respectively, while the first session of JEE Main 2026 will be conducted between January 21 and 30.

Officials said students need not worry as the Board will make alternative arrangements for those whose English practicals coincide with their JEE Main exam dates.

Other exam schedules and fee details

The Environmental Education exam will be held on January 24, followed by the Ethics and Human Values exam for backlog candidates on January 23. Science practicals will take place from February 2 to 21, including Sundays, in two sessions — 9 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 5 pm.

The Intermediate Public Examinations for the general stream will begin on February 25 for first-year students and February 26 for second-year students. Major subjects will conclude on March 13 and minor ones on March 18. Vocational course exams will follow the same dates, with a separate timetable to be issued.

Intermediate exam fees hiked for 2026 session

The State government has increased the examination fee for Intermediate students. For first-year arts and science students, the fee has been revised from ₹520 to ₹530. An additional ₹100 has been introduced for English practicals, bringing the total to ₹630.

Second-year arts students will pay ₹630, while science and vocational stream students will pay ₹870, which includes ₹530 for theory, ₹240 for science practicals, and ₹100 for English practicals.

The last date to pay the exam fee without a late fee is November 14. Colleges will accept payments with a ₹100 late fee from November 16 to 24
