Steno, two subordinates caught taking ₹5,000 bribe in Jayashankar Bhupalpally court

Telangana: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on February 20, 2026 caught a Steno Grade-I and two subordinates of the District Principal and Sessions Court in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district while allegedly accepting a ₹5,000 bribe.

According to a press note issued by the ACB, Accused Officer-1 Palakurthi Sai Charan, Steno Grade-I, was caught at 01.08 IST at the District Principal and Sessions Court, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. He allegedly demanded and accepted ₹5,000 from a complainant for handing over a certified copy of judgment in A.S. No. 03/2023.

The bribe was allegedly collected through Accused Officer-2 Kommu Sunitha, subordinate, and Accused Officer-3 Punnam Rajitha, subordinate.

The ACB said the tainted amount of ₹5,000 was recovered from the possession of Rajitha at her instance.

The agency stated that the accused officers performed their public duties improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

All three accused are being arrested and will be produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal. The case is under investigation.

The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.

Public urged to report bribery

The ACB has urged citizens to report any demand for bribe by public servants through its toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be lodged via WhatsApp at 9440446106, Facebook (Telangana ACB), and X (formerly Twitter) @TelanganaACB.

The bureau said the name and details of complainants will be kept confidential.
