Jani master misses National award, Sathish gets it solo as Choreographer
Hyderabad: With Jani Master, aka Shaik Jani Basha missing the prestigious National Award amidst sexual harassment allegation, another master, Sathish Krishnan bagged it solo National Award. Sathish co-choreographed along with Jani Master, for Thiruchitrambalam, a Tamil film.
It is known that Jani’s award was suspended by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting recently after a POCSO case was filed against him. Canceling the Award, the its statement, the I & B said, “In view of the seriousness of the allegation and the matter being subjudice, the Competent Authority has decided to suspend the National Film Award of the Best Choreography for the year 2022 to Shri Shaik Jani Basha for the film Thiruchitrambalam until further orders.” In connection with the same, the invitation extended to Jani master was also canceled.
As of now, Jani Master is out on interim bail. Earlier, he was arrested by the Cyberabad police in Goa in the month of September and was produced in the court. The court directed for a 14 day judicial custody.
Who is Jani Master?
Jani Master is a 42 year old dance choreographer working in the Indian Film industry in various languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and other languages. He is a popular choreographer, who is known for his choreography in songs such as Ra Ra Rakkamma, Jigelu Rani and in the recent hit movie, Stree2 as well. Jani is also popular as a judge in television dance shows.

Actor Nikhil’s Karthikeya2 bagged the national award as the Best Telugu Film this year. Meanwhile, actor Mithun Chakraborthy got the DadaSaheb Phalke Award this year at the National Film Awards. Dadasaheb Phalke Award is considered as one of the country’s highest awards in the film industry. Earlier, actor Rajinikanth, Rekha, Amitabh Bachchan, Sashi Kapoor also bagged this award in previous years.
