Food safety team flags hygiene lapses at ITLU Veg Diner in Financial District

HYDERABAD: The Commissioner of Food Safety‘s Cyberabad team found multiple hygiene and food safety violations during a routine inspection at ITLU Veg Diner Restaurant in Nanakramguda’s Financial District on July 6, 2026.
Officials said the restaurant maintained good personal hygiene standards among food handlers. Medical fitness certificates, water testing reports, pest control records and Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) certificates were available during the inspection.
Hygiene shortcomings identified during inspection
Inspectors found that the establishment did not have a hot water facility for sanitising cooking utensils. Water stagnation and food waste were observed near drains, while employees’ clothes were found stored close to the food preparation area. Officials also noted that several food containers were not properly labelled.
Unlabelled food items, including Hara Bhara Kebab, Beetroot Tikka, Onion Rings, Hello Gravy and Sweet Corn, were discarded on the spot. Dust accumulation was also observed on the ceiling of the store room.

Improvement notice to be issued
The inspection team also objected to the claim “The Purest Water on Earth” printed on the restaurant’s glass water bottles, stating that it was potentially misleading. The food business operator was instructed to discontinue the claim.
Officials said an Improvement Notice would be issued to the establishment, directing it to implement corrective measures. The restaurant scored 75 out of 92 marks (82%) in the hygiene assessment conducted during the inspection.
