Isha Singh wins World Cup gold with world record

Hyderabad : Telangana shooter Isha Singh opened India’s medal account at the ISSF World Cup Shooting tournament by winning gold in the women’s 25m pistol event on Wednesday. She also set a new world record in the final.
Isha breaks Kim Yeji’s world record
The 21-year-old scored 43 points in the elimination-format final featuring eight shooters to finish on top. In the process, she broke the previous world record of 42 points set by South Korea’s Kim Yeji in 2024.
Germany’s Doreen won the silver medal with 38 points, while Bulgaria’s Miroslava secured bronze with 31 points.
Manu Bhaker misses final berth
Earlier, Isha qualified for the final after finishing fifth in the qualification round with 587 points among 98 shooters.
India’s Manu Bhaker, a double bronze medallist at the Paris Olympics, finished 12th with 582 points. Rahi Sarnobat ended 14th with 581 points. Only the top eight shooters qualified for the final.
