IPL 2026: Traffic diversions announced around Uppal stadium on April 13

HYDERABAD: Traffic police have announced diversions and restrictions for the Indian Premier League 2026 match at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal, on April 13.
The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals is expected to draw large crowds. Therefore, authorities will regulate traffic from 12:00 IST to midnight.
Heavy vehicle curbs and diversions
To begin with, police will divert heavy vehicles away from Uppal during match hours. This includes lorries, trucks, dumpers, tankers, RMC vehicles, JCBs, private buses and tractors.
Meanwhile, vehicles from Ghatkesar towards Uppal will turn at HMDA Uppal Bhagayath entrance towards Nagole and LB Nagar. Similarly, traffic from LB Nagar will reroute at Nagole Metro Station via Boduppal and Chengicherla towards Cherlapally or Ghatkesar.
In addition, traffic from Tarnaka will turn at Habsiguda X Road towards Nacharam and NFC Rotary. Vehicles from Ramanthapur will divert at Street No. 8 towards Habsiguda and then Nacharam.
For long-distance travellers, heavy vehicles moving between Warangal and Hyderabad should use the Outer Ring Road at Ghatkesar or Abdullapurmet.
Congestion-prone stretches
As a result, traffic may slow down from Nagole to Habsiguda via Uppal Junction. Likewise, delays are expected from Boduppal to Amberpet via Uppal and Ramanthapur.
Hence, police advise commuters to avoid these routes and take alternative roads.
Parking arrangements for spectators
At the same time, authorities have earmarked five parking areas for spectators. Four are within 500 metres of the stadium, while one inside is reserved for VVIP and VIP pass holders.
Specifically, spectators can park at Penguin and TGIALA on the Habsiguda side. Additionally, parking is available near DSL (opposite NSL building) and Modern Bakery on the Ramanthapur side.
However, only pass holders can enter stadium parking through Gate 1A. Vehicles without valid passes cannot cross EK Minar and LG Godown check-posts.
Public advisory
Finally, police urge citizens to use public transport such as TSRTC buses and Metro Rail to reduce congestion.
Overall, Malkajgiri Traffic Police have asked the public to plan travel in advance and cooperate with officials.
