Hyderabad Police Bust Interstate Drug Peddling Racket, Two Held

Hyderabad: In a significant breakthrough, the Special Operations Team (SOT) of LB Nagar Zone, in conjunction with Uppal Police, apprehended two individuals involved in an interstate drug peddling racket. The operation targeted the transportation and sale of MDMA and opium drugs from Rajasthan to Hyderabad, culminating in the arrest of two suspects.

The accused individuals that have been identified include, Manoj Vishnoi, aged 23, a gas delivery boy from Karimnagar, currently residing in Julapalli, Karimnagar, Rajasthan and Buddha Ram, also known as Shivji, aged 32, a truck driver from Samrau, Lohavat Thana, Jodhpur district, Rajasthan.

The operation resulted in the seizure of significant contraband and property, including 100 grams of MDMA, 500 grams of opium, and four mobile phones.

Rajasthan to Hyderabad: Two Arrested for Trafficking MDMA and Opium

Investigations revealed that the accused, hailing from Jodhpur district, Rajasthan, collaborated to procure opium and MDMA drugs from Rajasthan and distribute them in Hyderabad for substantial profits. Their modus operandi involved purchasing opium at low rates and selling it in Hyderabad at exorbitant prices, exploiting vulnerable individuals in need of such substances.

It is noteworthy that Buddha Ram was previously involved in a similar case at Meerpet Police Station and was absconding.

On the evening of April 15, 2024, the SOT LB Nagar Zone team, in collaboration with Uppal police, apprehended the accused near Bhagayath, Uppal. While the main peddler and the source remain elusive, efforts are underway to apprehend them and identify the consumers involved.

The arrested individuals are being presented before the court for judicial remand.

In light of these developments, Rachakonda Police, under the direct supervision of Dr Tarun Joshi, IPS, Commissioner of Police, and the guidance of K. Muralidhar, DCP, SOT, LB Nagar-Maheshwaram, urge the general public, especially the youth and students, to refrain from falling prey to drug abuse. They also encourage parents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
