Rachakonda Police Thwart Interstate Child Trafficking Ring

Hyderabad: Rachakonda police busted an interstate child selling racket and rescued eleven babies on Tuesday. The police have arrested eleven member gang in connection with the case and launched a manhunt against three others who were at large, revealed Rachakonda police commissioner Tarun Joshi.

The arrested accused were identified as Shobharani, Hemalatha and Shaik Saleem, Bandari Hari Hara Chethan, Bandari Padma from Ghatkesar, Balgam Saroja, Mudavath Sharadha , Mudavath Raju, Pathan Mumtaz, Jaganadam Anuradha, Yata Mamatha.

Babies from Delhi and Pune are being sold in Hyderabad

Investigation revealed that the accused based out of Hyderabad used to get the babies from Kiran and Preethi hailing from Delhi and Kannaiah hailing from Pune. So far the accused have received nearly 50 babies from the accused based out of other states. These accused used to hand over the babies to their agents who are from different parts of the state. They used to sell them to the persons who are in need of babies in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in different places.

Further probe revealed that the accused charged a price ranging from Rs 1.80 to Rs 5.50 lakhs for each baby with the help of mediators and they used to receive nearly 50,000 to one lakh for each baby as their share from the profit in the process of selling.

The police have identified 11 babies who were rescued from the custody of the alleged accused in coordination with the CWC. Subsequently two babies have been sent to Shishuvihar for safe custody. Manhunt is launched against the accused Kiran, Preethi, and Kannaiah who are at large.

Revealing the details about the accused, Rachakonda police commissioner Tarun Joshi said, “Bandari Padma,Balgam Saroja, Mudavath Sharada who were previously arrested in the child trafficking case and went absconding while these cases are on court trial”. Further Investigation is under process.
