Infosys employee Soumya Reddy dies in Abdullapur crash
HYDERABAD: Eight Infosys employees were injured when their car overturned on the service road near Abdullapur Outer Ring Road late on Sunday.
One of them, identified as Infosys employee Soumya Reddy, sustained severe injuries and died while undergoing treatment, police said.
According to police, the group of employees was returning from the Saralamma Maisamma temple in Medchal when their vehicle went out of control and overturned on the ring road service lane.
“All the victims are employees of Infosys. The car skidded and overturned after the driver lost control,” police added.
An inquiry is underway into the exact cause of the accident.
Injured shifted to hospital
The seven others who were travelling in the vehicle sustained multiple injuries and were shifted to a nearby private hospital. Doctors said their condition is stable. Police suspect over speeding and loss of control over the steering wheel as possible reasons for the crash. A case has been registered and the investigation is underway.
