More than 1,000 families from Indu Projects in Kukatpally and Bandlaguda have appealed to CM A. Revanth Reddy

HYDERABAD: Over 1,000 families who purchased flats and villas in Indu Projects have appealed to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to intervene, seeking legal ownership of homes they have paid for and occupied for years.

Meanwhile, Homeowners from Indu Projects in Kukatpally (555 units) and Bandlaguda (524 units) convened at the Indu Aranya Haritha complex on Sunday, October 19. Facing mounting distress, they unanimously resolved to submit a joint appeal to the Chief Minister, emphasizing the critical need for a resolution to their decade-long struggle for property registration.

The crisis stems from joint ventures between the Housing Board and Indu Projects, launched in 2006. Delays, bankruptcy, and shifting responsibility between parties have left homeowners unable to register their properties.

“For over a decade, we have lived in these homes without legal ownership. Our savings and peace of mind are at stake,” said a homeowner who bought a flat, echoing the sentiment of all affected families. Many homeowners invested their life savings into what they believed was a government-backed, secure investment.

Although courts have ruled  in favour of purchasers, authorities have not enabled title transfer. Homeowners, who have paid taxes and utility bills, remain in legal limbo.

The collective appeal urges the Chief Minister to personally intervene by directing the relevant government departments and authorities to take immediate steps toward property registration, ensuring families receive legal ownership of their homes.

Further, Homeowners express confidence that this action will break the bureaucratic and legal deadlock, bringing long-awaited relief and restoring faith in government-backed housing projects.
