IMD Issues Telangana Rain Forecast, Strong Wind Warning Till July 8

Telangana Rain Forecast

HYDERABAD: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain at isolated places across Telangana over the next three days. Strong lower-level winds will also continue across the state till July 8.

The IMD expects wind speeds of 50-60 kmph over north and northeast Telangana. Central and south Telangana may experience winds of 30-40 kmph.

A depression over south Jharkhand and adjoining north interior Odisha is influencing the weather. The system is moving west-northwest at a speed of 15 kmph.

The IMD expects the depression to move northwest across Jharkhand, north Chhattisgarh and adjoining east Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

Moisture inflow to trigger scattered showers

The depression will not cross Telangana directly. However, it will increase moisture inflow into the state. As a result, several districts are likely to receive scattered rain along with gusty winds.

The IMD has advised residents, especially those in northern Telangana, to stay alert. Strong winds may disrupt outdoor activities and damage weak structures or tree branches.

Monsoon advances further across the country

Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon continues to advance across the country. The Northern Limit of Monsoon now passes through Jamnagar, Udaipur, Ajmer, Jhunjhunu, Hisar and Bathinda.

The IMD said weather conditions remain favourable for the monsoon to advance further. Over the next three days, it is likely to cover the remaining parts of the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab and parts of Rajasthan.
