Illegal teak timber seized in Chintapally village raid

TELANGANA: Forest officials conducted surprise raids in Chintapally village based on credible information and seized illegal teak timber stored at a house, officials said.
The operation was led by Mamatha, Deputy Range Officer (DRO), along with Shankar, Forest Section Officer (FSO), and Forest Beat Officers (FBOs) Ravikiran, Sai, Jyothi and Raheemuddin.
Tiger Tracker Prashanth and base camp watchers Ramesh, Venu, Rajanna and Bheemaiah also took part in the raid.
During the inspection, officials detected and seized teak timber stored at the residence of Muthyam Venkanna, son of Mallaiah, a resident of Chintapally village.
According to forest department officials, the seized material included five teak rough squares measuring 0.238 cubic metres and three teak planks measuring 0.0432 cubic metres.
The total estimated value of the seized timber is ₹24,821.
Officials said the timber has been transported to the Range Office for further enquiry and necessary legal action.
