Illegal dumping in Khajaguda lake: Raidurgam police books a case
Madhapur: Following the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA)’s team uncovering illegal soil dumping into Khajaguda lake, the Raidurgam police of Cyberabad commissionerate booked a case. The investigation revealed that the soil excavated from digging for laying the Bhagyanagar gas pipeline project was being illegally dumped into the lake buffer zone.
According to the First Information Report(FIR) issued by Raidurgam police, on November 27, 2024, the HYDRAA’s Disaster response force(DRF) surveillance team detected unauthorized soil dumping during nighttime operations.
Prima facie investigations revealed three JCB vehicles involved in illegal dumping. These vehicles were operating under the supervision of Kiran, who has been identified as the primary accused. The HYDRAA team intercepted and seized the JCBs during midnight and morning surveillance. Investigators found soil from gas pipeline construction was being deposited into the lake’s buffer zone and walking track, said a statement from HYDRAA.

P. Shashank Reddy, an Assistant Executive Engineer from the Irrigation Department, filed an official complaint after being alerted by HYDRAA team members about the ongoing ecological infringement.
Raidurgam police booked a case under sections 329 (criminal trespass), 324 (Mischief) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP).
