Police Raid Illegal Hookah Parlour At Café In Nagole Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Police busted an illegal hookah parlour operating under the guise of a café in the LB Nagar area and detained dozens of people during a raid on March 17.

Acting on information, a team led by ACP Krishnaiah of LB Nagar division raided Sehari Cafe in Nagole, under Nagole police station limits. Officials said the café was running an unauthorised hookah centre without valid permissions.

Around 20 customers, reportedly from Chandanagar, BN Reddy Nagar and Vanasthalipuram, were present during the raid. Police detained them and seized 15 vehicles, hookah pots, flavours and mobile phones from the premises.

In a related operation in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar under LB Nagar police station limits, police arrested 38 persons for involvement in running the illegal hookah centre. Authorities said the establishment was functioning secretly.

Owners absconding, investigation continues

Police identified the owners as Sagar and Mohan, who are currently on the run. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend them.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is in progress to ascertain the extent of the operation and any possible violations under relevant laws.
