HYDERABAD: Police busted an illegal hookah centre during a raid in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar under the limits of LB Nagar police station.

According to officials, 38 persons were arrested during the operation. Police seized hookah flavours, hookah pots, pipes and other related materials from the premises.

Centre allegedly operated secretly in residential locality

Officials said the hookah centre was functioning covertly in a residential area. The premises was reportedly being used as an unauthorised gathering point for customers.

Police sources said the activity had been continuing for some time before the raid was conducted based on specific information. Officers raided the location and detained those present.

Owners on the run as police expand investigation

The owners, identified as Sagar and Mohan, are on the run. Police have launched a search to trace and apprehend them.

The raid was conducted under the supervision of Krishnayya, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), LB Nagar. Officials said further investigation is underway to identify possible violations and establish the full extent of the operation.
