Iit Graduate Electrocuted While Removing Flexi Banner Touching Power Lines

HYDERABAD: A 22-year-old Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) graduate died after being electrocuted while removing a flexi banner that had come into contact with overhead power lines in Siddipet on Tuesday morning.

22-year-old dies after banner touches live power lines

Police identified the victim as Vivek Kiran Reddy (22), a resident of Thornala area in Siddipet town. According to police, Vivek was on his way upstairs in his apartment building when he noticed a hanging banner entangled in electric wires. In an attempt to remove it, he suffered a severe electric shock and died on the spot.

Officials said Vivek had recently completed his graduation from an IIT and had returned home to spend time with his parents, Yadava Reddy and Anjali, who were left inconsolable after the tragedy.

Police register case; body sent for postmortem

Police have registered a case and sent the body for postmortem examination. Further investigation is under way.
