I.I.M.U.N. Hyderabad conference unites 1,500 plus students at Johnson Grammar school

HYDERABAD: The city buzzed with youthful energy as India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.) launched its Hyderabad conference on November 14. Over three days at Johnson Grammar School – ICSE, Kuntloor, more than 1,500 students connected with trailblazers from military leadership, diplomacy, and entertainment.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including ACM VR Chaudhari, the 27th Chief of Air Staff, PVSM AVSM VM ADC (Retd.), renowned Actor Ram Nitin, and Ambassador Ausaf Sayeed, former Secretary to the Government of India (MEA) and former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Seychelles.
A cornerstone of the organization is making the Model United Nations experience accessible and exciting for students. By simulating the workings of global organizations and the Indian Parliament, I.I.M.U.N. has sparked curiosity in 220 cities across 35 countries, reaching over 150,000 schools. Each year, these conferences invite students to step into the shoes of diplomats, tackle pressing world issues, and craft solutions, nurturing the next generation of thoughtful global citizens.
At the inaugural session, ACM VR Chaudhari captivated the audience with stories from his distinguished career, having logged over 3,800 flying hours since joining the Indian Air Force in 1982. His insights and encouragement left students motivated to pursue excellence and take on leadership roles.
Dr. B. Mallikarjun Rao, Chairman of Johnson Grammar School, said, “We are thrilled to welcome over 2,000 students from 100+ city institutions. Hosting this prestigious event for the first time at our school is a proud moment.”
Distinguished luminaries attended
The conference, which took place from November 14th to 16th, is a flagship initiative of I.I.M.U.N., a youth-run non-profit organization established in 2011. Its mission is to unite the world by sensitizing tomorrow’s leaders today through simulations of multilateral organizations, such as the United Nations and the Indian Parliament.
Throughout the conference, participants engaged in spirited debates, thought-provoking discussions, and hands-on workshops that covered a range of topics, from current affairs to geopolitics and environmental challenges. The event culminated on November 16 with a celebratory awards ceremony, applauding 93 exceptional delegates from 31 simulated committees.
By bringing together ambitious students and visionary leaders, I.I.M.U.N. Hyderabad 2025 sets out to ignite a passion for global citizenship in the next generation.
