Hyderabad: Hyderabad is a city filled with amazing history and beautiful buildings. From grand palaces to old forts, each place has its own story about the past and the rulers who lived there. If you love history or just want to see stunning sights, Hyderabad has many wonderful places to visit. Here are some of the top historical sites that you shouldn’t miss!

1. Chowmahalla Palace

Location: Motigalli, Khilwat, Hyderabad, Telangana, India
Historical significance: Former official residence of the Nizams, seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty (1720-1948).
Construction: Began in 1769 by Nizam Ali Khan Asaf Jah II.
Current use: Museum (still owned by the Nizam family).
Timings: Open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed on Fridays and national holidays).
Entry fee: ₹100 for Indian visitors, ₹400 for foreign tourists.

2. Golconda Fort

Location: Ibrahim Bagh, Hyderabad, Telangana, India
Historical significance: Originally built in the 11th century.
Notable feature: Famous for its diamond mines, especially the Kollur Mine.
Timings: Open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Entry fee: ₹25 for Indian visitors, ₹300 for foreign tourists; Still Camera fee: ₹25.

3. Purani Haveli (Masarrat Mahal)

Location: Near Princess Durru Shehvar Hospital, Southeast of Afzal Gunj Bridge, Old City, Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
Historical significance: Official residence of the Nizam, built for Sikander Jah (Asaf Jah III).
Construction Year: 1577 (over 447 years ago).
Entry fee: ₹80 for adults, ₹15 for children; camera fees range from ₹150 to ₹500.
Timings: Open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed on Fridays).

4. Errum Manzil (Irram Manzil)

Location: Khairatabad – Panjagutta Road, Hyderabad, Telangana, India
Historical significance: Built around 1870 by Nawab Safdar Jung Musheer-ud-daula Fakhrul Mulk.
Name meaning: Irram means ‘Paradise’ in Persian; linked to the red hillock on which it stands.
Current use: Government office (no tourist visits allowed).
Timings: Open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed on Fridays).
