Hyderabad: Police to Produce iBomma Ravi in Three More Cases
HYDERABAD: Police will produce iBomma Ravi in three more cases on Wednesday as part of their ongoing investigation into alleged movie piracy.
Custody Plea Likely in New Cases
Officers said they will seek his custody for inquiry in these fresh cases. The court is also hearing Ravi’s bail petitions. The decisions on both custody and bail are expected later in the day.
Two Rounds of Earlier Police Inquiry
Police have already questioned him for eight days across two rounds of custody. Legal experts said the chances of bail at this stage remain low.
Claims on Statements During Inquiry
Sources said Ravi disclosed several details during his recent three-day questioning. He reportedly told investigators that he would stay away from piracy in future and would not approach original film content again.
Origin of the Name ‘iBomma’
During questioning, Ravi is learnt to have explained the origin of the name “iBomma”. According to him, the “i” refers to “internet”, not his surname, while “bomma” is a colloquial term for “film” in the Vizag region. He reportedly said the name was chosen to mean “internet film”.
