HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has advised prospective buyers to verify all legal and environmental details before purchasing plots or house sites in the city.

The warning comes after the agency received multiple complaints through the Prajavani grievance platform regarding disputed land, illegal layouts and encroachments.

Complaints flagged over layouts and lake buffer zones

Officials said buyers must check the Full Tank Level (FTL) limits of lakes, layout approvals and necessary permissions for gated communities before finalising property deals.

Failure to verify these details has led to several disputes, particularly in areas close to lakes and open spaces, according to HYDRAA.

Satellite imagery used to review public complaints

HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath reviewed 48 complaints on Monday using satellite images and directed officials to take appropriate action.

The complaints related to land disputes, lake pollution and encroachments in parks and public spaces, officials said.

Ranganath instructed field staff to examine each case and address the violations in accordance with regulations.
