Residents Demand Hydraa Action On Encroached Community Hall Land In Tirumalagiri

Hyderabad: In a significant move to protect public spaces, Hydra has intervened to safeguard a park in Pedda Kranti Colony, located in Chengicherla village of Medipally mandal, Medchal–Malkajgiri district.

Residents had lodged a complaint with Hydra Prajavani alleging that a 600-square yard park site was being illegally marked with “bye numbers” and sold off as residential plots.

Pedda Kranti Colony was originally laid out in 1968 across 66 acres, comprising 1,680 residential plots, along with designated open spaces, including parks. However, residents reported that certain park lands were being encroached upon and converted into plots for sale.

Acting on the complaint, Hydra conducted an inquiry and confirmed that the 600-square yard site was indeed earmarked for a park in the approved layout. On Thursday, officials demarcated the land and erected fencing around the site to secure it from further encroachment.

Local residents estimate the market value of the safeguarded land to be around ₹3 crore.
