HYDERABAD: HYDRAA on Sunday secured a park site measuring 1,253.8 square yards in Chakrapuri Colony, under Ameenpur Municipality in Sangareddy district. The land is estimated to be worth ₹7 crore.

The action followed a complaint by the Chakrapuri Colony Welfare Association at the HYDRAA Prajavani, alleging encroachments on the park land. Acting on the directions of Commissioner A V Ranganath, HYDRAA officials conducted a field inspection along with the concerned line departments.

The park land is located in Survey No. 135 of Ameenpur village. According to records, the site was handed over to local bodies for public use under Gift Settlement Deed No. 12343/2022, dated March 31, 2022, by the layout developers.

The land was earmarked for park and road development under HUDA layout approval LP No. 3814/MP2/HUDA/85. During the inspection, officials found that boundary stones marking the park land had been removed.

HYDRAA took immediate steps to secure the site by erecting fencing around the entire park area and installing boards identifying it as park land.

Residents of Chakrapuri Colony thanked HYDRAA for safeguarding the park and raised slogans in support of the agency.
