HYDERABAD: HYDRAA on Monday protected a 1,000 square yard park in Madinaguda of Serilingampally, Rangareddy district, by demolishing an illegal compound wall and fencing the land. The market value of the land is estimated at ₹13 crore.

Park land earmarked in approved layout

The land falls under Survey No. 23 in Ushodaya Enclave, a layout approved by the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority. As per the approved plan, 1,000 square yards were reserved for a public park and a gift deed was executed in favour of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

Illegal occupation flagged by residents

Despite clear records, a local individual allegedly encroached upon the park land and erected a precast wall to keep it under private control. Residents of Ushodaya Enclave have been agitating for the restoration of the park, alleging inaction by the local administration.

HYDRAA acts on complaint

Acting on a complaint received through Prajavani, HYDRAA officials, along with Revenue and GHMC staff, conducted a field inspection and confirmed the land as park space. The encroaching wall was demolished and HYDRAA fencing was installed around the site. Boards were also put up declaring the land as a public park meant for citizens’ use.
