HYDRAA protects Crescent Nagar park in Chengicherla

Chengicharla

HYDERABAD: HYDRAA on Tuesday protected a 1,200-square-yard park in Crescent Nagar at Chengicherla in Medipally mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

The action followed a complaint by representatives of the ECIL Employees Owners Association, who approached HYDRAA’s Prajavani seeking protection for the park land from encroachment.

In 1989, the ECIL Employees Owners Association developed a gram panchayat layout named Crescent Nagar with 106 plots in survey numbers 134 and 139 of Chengicherla village. The layout earmarked 1,200 square yards for a park and land for other public purposes.

Association representatives told HYDRAA that some people were attempting to encroach on the park site and requested the agency to protect it.

HYDRAA officials inspected the site along with the concerned authorities and confirmed that the land had been earmarked as a park.

On Tuesday, the officials installed a HYDRAA board clearly identifying the site as park land meant for public use. The agency said the measure was aimed at preventing any encroachments in future.

HYDRAA officials said the agency would continue to take steps to protect parks, open spaces and government properties earmarked for public purposes.
