HYDRAA mandates disclosure of pending court cases in public grievance complaints

Hyderabad: On February 24, 2025, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) issued a notice to citizens attending its public grievance sessions urging them to mention any pending Civil or High Court cases related to their complaints. The agency stated that failure to disclose such pending matters would result in action against the complainants.

HYDRAA clarified that it will not address personal disputes or individual conflicts. Complaints should focus solely on issues related to government land or land encroachments intended for public use.
During the recent grievance session, several individuals raised concerns about the encroachment of land donated for public purposes. A prominent example cited was the ongoing encroachment on Indira Park, where a portion of its 76 acres, donated by Pingali Venkatrama Reddy, is being misused. According to the Indira Park Morning Walkers Association, while part of the land has been allocated for an electrical substation, a garbage yard, and Snow World, businessmen are reportedly encroaching on the remaining space.
Another complaint came from residents of Ahmedguda village in Keesara Mandal, within Dummaiguda Municipal limits, where a real estate company has begun construction on land designated for a burial ground and the nala buffer zone.
In Antyapalli village in Shamirpet Mandal, villagers expressed concerns about the encroachment on the Chettukunta Cheruvu (lake), requesting HYDRAA’s intervention to protect the waterbody.
Additionally, residents of Bahudurpalli in Dundigal Municipality have raised an issue regarding the development of plots on land originally allocated for parks, schools, and community halls in the Green Hills Housing Colony.
