HYDERABAD: HYDRAA on Thursday secured a 1,600 sq yard park land in Jubilee Hills, located behind the TV5 office, preventing fresh encroachments in the high-value locality.

The land is part of two layouts covering 11,700 sq yards developed by Pradeep Kumar Lahoti and Subhash Kumar Lahoti. About 1,600 sq yards was earmarked for a park. However, locals allegedly attempted to encroach upon the site using forged documents. Cases were registered against them earlier.

HYDRAA acts after encroachment complaints

Following complaints that the park land could again face encroachment, HYDRAA installed fencing around the site on Thursday. It also placed boards marking the area as park land to prevent further disputes.

The land, spread across Survey Nos. 120/1 and 120/28, had faced repeated encroachment attempts in the past. The district administration had cleared such encroachments earlier.

Anticipating further attempts, the Medchal–Malkajgiri district collector wrote to HYDRAA seeking protection of the land. Acting on the request, HYDRAA fenced the area and installed boards identifying it as government property.
