HYDRAA demolishes encroachments on government land in Yapral

Hyderabad: HYDRAA officials carried out demolitions in Yapral, part of Jawahar Nagar in Medchal district, targeting illegal constructions on government land. The demolitions focused on properties built within the buffer zone of Nagireddy Kunta Nala and on land identified in survey numbers 14 and 32.

An investigation revealed that the builder of the DNR Function Hall had misled the court by claiming the construction was on private land. A status quo order was obtained based on this false information. However, HYDRAA officials confirmed that the function hall was built on government land, specifically in survey numbers 14 and 32.

Following instructions from HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, officials demolished parts of the function hall and the surrounding compound wall that encroached on government property. The demolition also affected constructions within the buffer zone of Nagireddy Kunta Nala, in compliance with the GHMC Act 405. Officials clarified that the demolition did not extend to survey number 25, where a court stay order was in effect.

In addition, HYDRAA officials prevented an encroachment at the Dhobi Ghat area in survey number 32, demolishing an illegally built compound wall. These actions are part of an ongoing effort by the Government Land Conservation Committee in Yapral to protect government land and prevent encroachments along Nagireddy Kunta Nala and the Dhobi Ghat area.

The committee, which has been fighting encroachments for several years, welcomed HYDRAA’s recent actions and expressed relief that its efforts are now yielding results.
