HYDRAA Demolishes encroachments in Madhapur, Dundigal, Ameenpur

Hyderabad: In a continuing effort to clear illegal structures, Assets protection wing of the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) launched a series of demolitions in Madhapur, Dundigal, Ameenpur on Sunday. The latest operations target encroachments in the Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zones of ponds in Madhapur, Dundigal, and Ameenpur.
In Madhapur, HYDRAA launched a demolition drive to protect Sudalavani Kunta also known as Sunnam Cheruvu, Allahpur village, Balanagar mandal. Following several complaints of encroachment into the FTL of Sunnam Cheruve. The HYDRAA officials inspected the spot and found buildings constructed within the FTL violating the norms. Subsequently, Encroachments in survey numbers 12, 13, 14, and 16, were cleared with the support of local authorities.
Meanwhile in Mallampet of Dundigal municipality also HYDRAA continued its demolition drive simultaneously. In a major crackdown on illegal villas built in violation of regulations at Mallampet’s Katwa Lake. A major demolition was carried out at a villa belonging to Lakshmi Srinivasa Constructions on Sunday morning, with a significant police force deployed to maintain order.

Encroachments in FTL and buffer zones cleared
Simultaneously, HYDRAA began razing unauthorized structures in HMT Colony and Vaninagar, under Ameenpur Municipality in Sangareddy District. The demolitions carried out with the assistance of revenue and municipal officials, are part of HYDRAA’s ongoing campaign to reclaim pond and lake lands from illegal occupiers.
HYDRAA was established for TCUR (Telangana Core Urban Region)for the purpose of disaster management, asset protection and other functions. The TCUR is a term that refers to the area comprising the entire GHMC and areas of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri and Sangareddy Districts up to ORR.
