Commissioner Ranganath orders fencing of protected lands, marked “Protected by HYDRAA”
Hyderabad: On Monday, January 27, 2025, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) received 78 complaints during its weekly Prajavani session.
HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath assured complainants that officials would directly visit them to conduct inquiries.
The complaints, which came from various areas along the Outer Ring Road, focused on issues such as encroachments on ponds, drains, roads, and designated public spaces. During the session, the Commissioner reviewed the complaints with the help of a PowerPoint presentation, showing details via Google Maps.
Ranganath directed officials to assign these cases and begin thorough investigations. He also instructed local authorities to gather complete details and conduct inquiries in the presence of the complainants.
The Commissioner assured that officials would visit the complainants within two weeks to investigate the issues. He provided them with contact details for the relevant officials. If the issues were not resolved within four weeks, Ranganath stated that he would personally follow up on the investigations.
In response to the encroachments, the Commissioner recommended that cases be filed against the accused. He also suggested that government lands and parks that have been protected from encroachments be fenced off, with signs indicating they are “Protected by HYDRAA.”
Additionally, the Commissioner instructed immediate action against unauthorized constructions post-July 2024.
Regarding complaints about rising Full Tank Level (FTL) limits of ponds, Ranganath ordered officials to focus on this issue. He recommended using satellite imagery from the Survey of India and NRSC, along with village maps, to determine the FTL boundaries. He specifically mentioned reviewing Ameenpur Lake, Durgam Lake, Mansurabad Peda Cheruvu, and Masab Lake.
