HYDRAA Commissioner announces comprehensive survey in Ameenpur, Acts on unauthorized hoardings

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) Commissioner A.V. Ranganath announced on Friday that a comprehensive survey will soon be conducted in Ameenpur to address land encroachment issues.
The Commissioner reassured the public that there is no need to worry about land encroachments in the lay-outs of Ameenpur Municipality. He confirmed that the survey would be conducted transparently with the involvement of Survey of India, AD Survey Department, Revenue, and HYDRAA Survey teams to clarify the boundaries of these areas.
“We will ensure that parks and public-use lands in the lay-outs are protected from encroachment. Complaints have been received about encroachments on government land, and these claims will be investigated,” Ranganath said.

On the same day, the Commissioner visited several areas in Ameenpur, including Ailapur, Chakrapuri Colony, RTC Colony, and Venkataramana Colony, to meet with residents and gather details about the encroachments they reported.
Following the Commissioner’s visit, numerous residents gathered to file complaints. Representatives from the Ailapur Rajagopal Nagar Association expressed frustration over encroachments on their plots for over 40 years, claiming they were unable to even inspect their properties.
Several residents also accused a person named Mukhi of selling their plots to others under their names. When questioned, they claimed they had been threatened.
Residents recalled that in the 1980s, approximately 5,000 people purchased plots in the area. However, the land was later declared government property. They are currently awaiting a court decision on the matter. Meanwhile, they allege that Mukhi has continued to encroach on and sell their plots.
The residents, primarily from SC, ST, BC, and middle-class backgrounds, expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of response from local authorities. They further alleged that Mukhi, an advocate, had been threatening them, and that local officials had failed to act on their complaints.
Residents also recalled that Mukhi had previously demolished houses built on plots he sold. They noted that a murder case was also filed against him.
Residents in Chakrapuri Colony, RTC Colony, and Venkataramana Colony raised similar complaints. They accused Golden Key Ventures of encroaching on their plots, parks, and roads in these layouts.
In Chakrapuri Colony, residents claimed that Vijay Krishnam Raju had purchased 53 acres of land in 2005 but later encroached upon more than 18 additional acres. They conducted their own surveys to mark boundaries but allege that Golden Key Ventures has intruded into their colonies, causing difficulties for 400 landowners.

Regarding the ongoing legal cases in Ailapur, the HYDRAA Commissioner stated that the agency would review the court orders and ensure that genuine beneficiaries are identified.
Ranganath assured residents that a new HYDRAA Police Station would be set up soon, and action would be taken against the encroachers. He emphasized that the government had established HYDRAA to protect public and government lands, and complaints would be thoroughly investigated.
Meanwhile, HYDRAA officials also took action on Friday against unauthorized advertisement unipoles in the city. Large hoardings, erected along roads without proper permits and without paying fees to the government, were removed. The focus was initially on hoardings along the Shamshabad Airport route.
The removals were carried out in the presence of municipal officials. HYDRAA had previously held a meeting with municipal officials from the city outskirts regarding unipole advertisements. Unipoles set up without permits were identified, and action was taken accordingly.
