HYDRAA officials removing encroached compound wall at Kachavani Singaram road

HYDERABAD: HYDRAA on Tuesday removed a road encroachment at Kachavani Singaram in Medipally mandal of Medchal–Malkajgiri district.

Acting on a complaint from the Divyanagar Singarenians Welfare Society, HYDRAA dismantled a compound wall stretching nearly one kilometre that had been constructed by encroaching 13 feet into a 40-ft-wide road. The road connects Narapally, Divyanagar and Kachavani Singaram villages.

According to officials, the road was earmarked with a 40-ft width when four layouts were developed under the name Divyanagar Phase-5. Later, Malipeddi Hanumantha Reddy, who owns adjacent agricultural land, constructed the wall claiming it marked his field boundary.

The dispute between Hanumantha Reddy and owners of over 1,000 plots in the layout has persisted for nearly a decade. The welfare society had raised the issue through the HYDRAA Prajavani grievance platform.

Following a field inspection by concerned officials, HYDRAA removed the wall as per the approved layout plan. The road has now been restored to its full width and reopened for public use.

Local residents welcomed HYDRAA’s action, expressing satisfaction over steps taken to protect public roads.
