HYDRAA Secures Boduppal Park Land from Encroachers
HYDERABAD: HYDRAA has protected 1,166 square yards of park land in Telephone Colony under Boduppal Gram Panchayat in Medipally mandal of Medchal–Malkajgiri district, benefiting nearly 3,000 families and around 10,000 residents.
The agency removed unauthorised fencing erected by encroachers and secured the land by installing boundary fencing and signboards identifying it as park property.
Investigation confirms park boundaries
The park was earmarked in the original Gram Panchayat layout developed in 1974. According to HYDRAA, some individuals attempted to occupy the land by dividing it into six pockets, despite residents developing the area as a public park.
Residents approached HYDRAA through its public helpline, alleging repeated attempts to encroach upon the park.
Following the complaints, HYDRAA conducted a detailed inquiry in coordination with the concerned departments. Officials carried out field inspections and verified that the colony was developed in Survey Nos. 78 and 79 of Boduppal village.
Although the layout belonged to the Gram Panchayat, Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) and Building Regularisation Scheme (BRS) approvals had been granted for several plots and buildings in the colony. Officials also examined registered sale deeds of plots adjoining the park and confirmed that the park land had clearly defined boundaries.
Fencing erected after verification
Based on the approved layout, registered documents, field inspections and representations from residents, HYDRAA concluded that the entire 1,166 square yards constituted designated park land.
The agency removed the unauthorised fencing put up by encroachers, installed boards identifying the land as a public park and erected permanent fencing after demarcating its boundaries.
