HYDERABAD: Residents of Shabari Hills layout in Rangareddy district have heaved a sigh of relief after the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) removed illegal road encroachments on Thursday.

The encroachment was located in Pedda Amberpet village of Abdullapurmet mandal. The Shabari Hills layout was developed in Survey No. 265 with 278 plots. A person who had purchased one acre of land in the adjoining Survey No. 346 allegedly entered the layout and encroached upon about 20 plots.

Complaint over blocked access roads

Claiming that a drain was passing through his land, the individual asserted ownership over the disputed area and erected compound walls, blocking internal roads of the layout. As a result, plot owners said access to their properties was cut off.

The Shabari Hills layout plot owners lodged a complaint at HYDRAA Prajavani, alleging that the encroachment had blocked the main approach road to the layout.

Survey confirms encroachment

Acting on the complaint, HYDRAA conducted an inquiry and carried out an AD survey in the presence of both parties to verify boundaries. The survey confirmed that encroachments had taken place within the layout to the extent of about 4,000 square yards.

Following this, HYDRAA removed the compound walls that were obstructing layout roads on Thursday. Residents said the action restored access and brought relief to plot owners.
