HYDRAA clears encroachments at Narsingi’s Mushki Lake

HYDERABAD: Officials of the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) have intensified action against encroachments in the city and launched operations at Mushki Lake in Narsingi.
The Irrigation Department and HYDRAA officials have begun fencing the lake after identifying encroachments on its land. Authorities moved into the area following complaints that parts of the water body had been occupied.
Officials identify encroached land
Officials said Mushki Lake spreads across about 60 acres. Of this, nearly 10 acres were found to be under encroachment.
Acting on the complaint, officials started fencing the lake perimeter to prevent further encroachments and safeguard the water body.
Notices issued for constructions
Authorities have also issued notices to structures built on the 10-acre encroached land.
Officials said further action would be taken in accordance with regulations to protect the lake and reclaim occupied land.
