Hyderabad’s CRYA Cricket premier league reaches semifinals with exciting matchups

Hyderabad: The fifth week of the Catholic Reddy Youth Association (CRYA) Cricket Premier League 2025 in Hyderabad has concluded, setting the stage for the highly anticipated semifinals. The tournament, which began on February 15, 2025, has seen its fair share of thrilling performances, with the competition for the semifinal spots growing increasingly intense.
Tournament organizer Allam Nithin Reddy shared with Hyderabad Mail, “Blessed Challengers, Royalina Champions, Christ The King 11, and Designwalls have qualified for the semifinals. All league matches have been completed, and the semifinals will take place on March 22, 2025, at KCR Cricket Grounds. The third-place match and final will follow on March 23.”

Blessed Challengers, the top team in the league, secured a dominant 14 points, winning 7 out of their 9 matches. With a Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.854, they topped the table and automatically booked their place in the semifinals. Royalina Champions finished with 12 points, having won 6 matches and lost 3. Their NRR of 1.402 was the highest among the teams with 12 points, which earned them the second seed. Christ The King 11 also finished with 12 points, but with a slightly lower NRR of 0.945, placing them third. Designwalls, with the same number of points, had an NRR of 0.687, which was the lowest of the three teams tied with 12 points, making them the fourth seed.
The first semifinal will see the top-ranked Blessed Challengers face off against Designwalls. Blessed Challengers will look to maintain their strong form, while Designwalls will be aiming to challenge the leaders. The second semifinal will feature Royalina Champions against Christ The King 11. Both teams finished with equal points, and their encounter is expected to be a closely contested battle.

The CRYA Cricket Premier League, featuring 10 teams in total, has generated significant interest among fans in Hyderabad. The teams include Blessed Challengers, Designwalls, Christ The King 11, Elev8Edge, Guardian Angels, Holy Hitters, Brave Spirits, AB’s Predators, Royalina Strikers, and Dhatri Dragons. The auction for the league, held on January 9, 2025, saw intense bidding, with the highest player bid reaching 25,000 rupees.
