Hyderabad Zoo Raises Entry, Service Charges From August 1

HYDERABAD: Visitors to Nehru Zoological Park will have to pay higher entry and service charges from August 1 after the Telangana Zoos and Parks Authority approved a revised tariff structure.

Board approves revised tariff structure

The decision was taken at the 15th Governing Body meeting of the Telangana Zoos and Parks Authority, held in the presence of Forests Minister Konda Surekha. Zoo Curator J. Vasantha said the revised charges would come into effect on August 1.

The board said the revision was aimed at improving zoo management and visitor facilities. Separate entry charges have also been introduced for foreign tourists.

Foreign visitors to pay separate entry fee

Under the revised tariff, entry for Indian adults has been increased from ₹100 to ₹120, while the fee for children has been raised from ₹50 to ₹60. Foreign tourists will pay ₹1,000 for adult entry and ₹500 for child entry.

AC safari charges have been increased from ₹150 to ₹165 for Indian visitors and fixed at ₹300 for foreign tourists. Non-AC safari charges have been revised from ₹100 to ₹110 for Indians and ₹200 for foreign visitors.

Battery-operated vehicle charges have been increased from ₹120 to ₹135 for adults and from ₹70 to ₹75 for children. Foreign visitors will pay ₹300 for adults and ₹400 for children.

Still camera charges have been revised from ₹150 to ₹500. Video camera charges have been increased from ₹250 to ₹500. Charges for movie cameras remain ₹10,000, while the fee for cameras with lens and tripod setup has been fixed at ₹700.

Management cites infrastructure and animal care

Zoo management said the revised tariff was necessary to develop Nehru Zoological Park to international standards, strengthen animal care and improve visitor amenities. The curator appealed to visitors and city residents to support the park’s development and maintenance.
