HYDERABAD: The Cyber Crime Police, Hyderabad have arrested a YouTuber for allegedly creating and circulating child sexual abuse material on social media platforms.

Suo motu case after abusive videos surface online

Police identified the accused as Kambeti Satya Murthy, 39, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, who ran a YouTube channel named Viral Hub (@ViralHub007). A suo motu case (Cr. No. 1885/2025) was registered on October 16, 2025, after officials noticed videos involving minors circulating online.

According to investigators, the videos featured interviews with children aged between 15 and 17. During these interactions, the accused allegedly posed obscene and sexually explicit questions. In one video, he is accused of inducing two minors to kiss each other.

Content violated child protection and cyber laws

Police said the content contained sexually explicit language and indecent behaviour, amounting to sexual exploitation of children and violations of child protection and cyber laws. Following technical analysis and verification, officers traced the digital footprint to the accused and arrested him.

YouTuber targeted minors to boost views, police say

Investigators said Satya Murthy had been operating as a YouTuber since 2018 and also ran an Instagram account, Viralhub_007. He initially interviewed social media influencers using vulgar language to attract viewership and revenue, before allegedly escalating to targeting minors to increase views and monetisation.

The case was cracked by a team led by Inspector S Naresh, with Sub-Inspector Suresh and other personnel, under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police Shiva Maruthi, Cyber Crime Police Station, Hyderabad.

Public advisory

Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police warned that any exploitation of minors for online content is a serious criminal offence. Interviewing minors using obscene or sexually suggestive language, inducing them into inappropriate acts, or creating and circulating such content online attracts stringent punishment under the Information Technology Act, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and other criminal laws.

Citizens were urged to report child abuse content or cyber crime to the nearest police station or cyber crime unit. Complaints can also be lodged via the Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 or through cybercrime.gov.in.
