Hyderabad police bust WhatsApp ganja network
Hyderabad : Hyderabad police have arrested four people for allegedly running a ganja distribution network through WhatsApp. They seized 1,040 grams of ganja and four mobile phones during the operation, while 11 other suspects remain absconding.
Police raid catches accused during drug deal
According to police, a team led by Sub-Inspector Somashekhar kept surveillance on Road No. 41 in Jubilee Hills on Saturday evening after receiving specific information. The team raided the spot while the contraband was being exchanged.
The arrested accused have been identified as event manager P. Ravi Kumar of Kukatpally, Dheeram Raj alias Bablu, Kurma Harish alias Pandu and Soma Suryasekhar alias Nani of Addagutta.
During questioning, the accused allegedly told police that they were supplying ganja after conducting WhatsApp conference calls on the instructions of Bengaluru-based Sanjeev Choudhary. Police said efforts are under way to trace the remaining 11 suspects.
