Hyderabad faces 24-hour water supply disruption

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board will suspend water supply in parts of the city for 24 hours due to maintenance work at Asif Nagar.

The board is cleaning a 1.36 million litres capacity old balancing tank at the Asif Nagar filter beds. The work will begin at 6 am on May 2, 2026, and continue till 6 am on May 3, 2026.

Areas to face disruption and low-pressure supply

Water supply will be disrupted in some areas and remain at low pressure in others during the maintenance period.

Under Operations and Maintenance Division XIII (Goshamahal and Karwan circle), affected areas include Red Hills, Nampally, Mallepally, Sitarambagh, Godeki Khabar, Hindi Nagar, Assembly, Secretariat New MLA Quarters, Adarsh Nagar, South Central Railway, Nampally and Gunfoundry.

Under Division XIV (Golconda zone), Chintal Basti, Vijayanagar Colony, Old Mallepally, Asif Nagar and Ahmed Nagar will be affected.

Under Division XVII (Kavadiguda circle), supply will be affected in Kavadiguda ward, Gandhinagar ward and Domalguda.

Under Division XV (Jubilee Hills circle), Banjara Hills ward will face disruption.

The water board has requested residents in these areas to use water sparingly during the period.
