Hyderabad to Face Water Supply Disruption for 36 Hours

HYDERABAD: Drinking water supply to parts of the city will be disrupted for 36 hours beginning Saturday, March 7, 2026, as the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board undertakes repair and replacement works in the Manjira Phase-III system.
Officials said the high-tension electrical panels at the pump house in Peddapur have been in use for more than 35 years and will be removed and replaced with new panels.

Alongside the electrical work, engineers will replace air valves on the 1,600 mm diameter pumping main pipeline between Peddapur and Singapur. Air vents on the 2,000 mm diameter gravity main pipeline from Singapur to Peddapur will also be repaired and replaced.
The works will begin at 8 am on Saturday, March 7, 2026, and continue until 8 pm on Sunday, March 8, 2026.
Several areas to receive low pressure or no supply
During the maintenance period, some areas will receive water supply at low pressure while supply will be completely stopped in others.
In Operations and Maintenance Division No. 3, supply to the Shaikpet reservoir will be fully stopped, while the Bhojagutta area will receive water at low pressure.
In Operations and Maintenance Division No. 18, water supply will be halted in Manikonda, Kokapet, Narsingi and Manchirevula, among other areas.
Under Transmission I and II, water supply will be completely stopped.
Officials requested consumers in the affected areas to use water sparingly during the repair period.
