Hyderabad water supply disrupted due to Singur pipeline repairs

HYDERABAD: Drinking water supply to several parts of Hyderabad will be disrupted for about 12 hours due to emergency repair works on the Singur Project Phase-3 main pipeline, which supplies water to the city.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board said the repairs are being taken up to arrest a major leakage in the pipeline. Simultaneously, Telangana Transco will carry out routine maintenance works.

The works will continue until 8 pm on Saturday. Water supply will be restored after the repairs are completed, officials said.

The disruption will affect areas falling under the following divisions and reservoirs:

Division 6: Banjara Hills, Somajiguda, Venkatagiri, Yellareddyguda, Erragadda, SPR Hills and surrounding localities.
Division 9: Kukatpally Housing Board Colony, Borabanda, Gayatri Nagar, Moosapet, Bharat Nagar.
Division 15: Kondapur, Doyens Colony and Madhapur.
Division 17: Gopal Nagar.
Division 22: Tellapur.

Residents in the affected areas have been urged to use water judiciously during the disruption period.
