Hyderabad water supply disrupted due to Manjeera pipeline leak
HYDERABAD: A major leakage has been reported on the Manjeera Phase 2, 1,500 mm diameter pre-stressed concrete pumping main near Rudraram, which supplies drinking water to Hyderabad.
The leakage has led to a disruption in drinking water supply on Wednesday. Officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board said emergency repair works were taken up immediately and are expected to be completed by Thursday morning, after which supply will be restored.
Due to the leakage, water supply has been disrupted in several areas under Operations and Maintenance Divisions 6, 9, 17 and 22, officials added.
Areas affected:
Beeranguda, Ameenpur, Miyapur, Deepti Sri Nagar, Kukatpally Housing Board Colony, Nizampet, Hyder Nagar, Moosapet and Erragadda.
