Two Hyderabad Voters Dropped From Draft Roll Despite Form Submission

HYDERABAD: The exclusion of two voters from the same family in Basharath Nagar under the Bahadurpura Assembly Constituency from the Draft Electoral Roll during the ongoing SIR-2026 has raised concerns.

Social activist S.Q. Masood raised the issue in a representation to the Chief Election Commissioner, Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana, and District Election Officer & Commissioner, GHMC.

Masood said both voters had submitted their Enumeration Forms but later found their names in the ASDD category.

Ms Khudsia Begum, wife of Abdul Shukoor, EPIC No. WSD1826403, Part No. 126 and Serial No. 1394, submitted her Enumeration Form online on July 9, 2026. The Election Commission of India generated an acknowledgement confirming her successful submission.

However, authorities excluded her name from the Draft Electoral Roll and listed her in the ASDD category as “Untraceable/Absent”.

The second case concerns Mr Abdul Quddus, son of Abdul Qader, EPIC No. WSD2296077, Part No. 61 and Serial No. 739. He submitted his Enumeration Form manually to the concerned Booth Level Officer.

Despite submitting the form, Quddus did not find his name in the Draft Electoral Roll. Authorities listed him as “Permanently Shifted”. Quddus continues to live at the same Basharath Nagar address and has owned the property for nearly 30 years.

Masood sought verification of the relevant Booth Level Officer and Electoral Registration Officer records, including the Enumeration Forms and acknowledgements.

He also urged the election authorities to identify the reasons for the exclusions and restore the voters’ names if they meet the eligibility criteria.
