Hyderabad Vigilance team seizes 10 heavy vehicles, imposes Rs 5.3 Lakh penalty on NH-44
Hyderabad : Continuing its crackdown against heavy vehicles plying on roads violating the rules, Vigilance and Enforcement team of Hyderabad City- second unit conducted a surprise check on NH – 44 and seized ten vehicles and imposed a penalty of five lakhs on these vehicles.
According to the Vigilance and enforcement team, on Saturday from 10:30 to 17:30 hrs, Vigilance and Enforcement Officials of Hyderabad City-2 Unit along with Transport and Mining Department officials conducted Surprise Route check on NH-44 at Bhoothpur, Mahabubnagar outskirts and Rajapur areas in Mahabubnagar Dist.
During the surprise check they inspected and imposed a fine amount approximately Rs. 4.90 lakhs on the vehicles for Motor vehicle Act(MV Act) violations like Overloading, without fitness, Insurance, Pollution certificates, Tax Penalties and other violations.
In this connection with the same Vigilance and enforcement team seized ten motor vehicles and kept them in Bhutpur, Rajapur, Jadcherla PSs of Mahabubnagar dist for safe custody.
In addition to fines imposed regarding the MV act violation, officials also imposed a GST fine amount of approximately Rs. 30,000 and Royalty amount of Rs. 15,000 towards mining violations. Over all in this operation Vigilance and enforcement team imposed a fine of Rs 5.3 Lakhs on the vehicles seized.
On Friday as well, Vigilance and Enforcement Hyderabad Rural Unit conducted a surprise checking and cracked a whip on 19 heavy vehicles and seized them. Vigilance and Enforcement Hyderabad Rural Unit, on the intervening night of Saturday, Vigilance unit along with the officials of Mines and Road Transport Authority (RTA) Departments have conducted surprise route check at Dundigal cross Road, Medchal Junction,
During the checking officials intercepted the vehicles plying on roads and found violating several rules. Subsequently officials booked cases under Motor Vehicles Act against 19 lorries carrying Robo sand, Bricks, 20 MM Chips and seized 12 of them and kept them under safe custody.
Overall Vigilance and Enforcement Hyderabad Rural Unit along with the officials of Mines and Road Transport Authority (RTA) Departments imposed a fine of Rs. 4,85,970 on all the 19 heavy vehicles.
