Hyderabad tutor burns boy with hot spoon

HYDERABAD: A tuition teacher allegedly burned an eight-year-old boy with a hot spoon at Film Nagar on Thursday, causing multiple injuries, police said.
Boy sent to local tuition centre
According to police and the child’s parents, the boy, a Class 1 student from OU Colony in Shaikpet, was sent for tuition to a teacher identified as Manasa on Thursday evening.
Teacher inflicts burns for ‘not studying properly’
Police said Manasa allegedly pressed a heated spoon on the child’s hands, legs and face, saying he was not studying properly. The child sustained burn injuries at eight places on his body.
Parents file police complaint
The parents approached Film Nagar police after noticing the burns. Police shifted the child to the Golconda Area Hospital for medical examination.
The boy is reportedly unable to walk due to the injuries.
The parents urged police to take strict action against Manasa for assaulting their son.
